My freshman year in college at the University of Houston, I began to meet with some sisters from Christians on Campus once a week to pray and read the Bible. After several weeks one them asked if we could begin reading The Economy of God by Witness Lee. At the outset of reading this book I was rather overwhelmed. However, many matters that the book touched really helped me to pursue the Lord the rest of my college years. I believe the matter of consecration at the beginning of the book really helped me and led me to fully consecrate myself to the Lord during my college years. I saw that I was not my own and that I belonged to the Lord because He bought me with a price (1 Corinthians 6:20). I saw the Lord's love for me and could not help but give myself to Him.
Touching the matter of consecration in The Economy of God at the beginning of my college years brought me to consecrate myself to the Lord. It really laid a foundation for the Lord to gain me in the experiences I had in college and to make all of my decisions with God's purpose in view (Romans 8:28).
